The Taliban have reported that two vehicles fell into a river in Surobi district of Kabul province, leaving five people missing following the incident.
The Taliban’s National Disaster Preparedness and Response Authority announced on Saturday, May 23, that two vehicles, a Fielder and a Passo, collided with each other on the Kabul–Jalalabad highway before plunging into the river.
According to preliminary information, nine people were inside the two vehicles. So far, the bodies of four people, including two men and two children, have been recovered from the water.
The Taliban added that five other individuals are still missing, and search operations to locate them are ongoing.
