The Taliban have announced that four people were killed in a traffic incident in Nuristan province.
Bakhtar News Agency, which is under Taliban control, reported on Saturday, May 30, that the incident occurred after a vehicle fell into a river, leaving one other person injured.
Officials from the Taliban’s security command in Nuristan said the vehicle veered off the road in the “Posta Jangal” area of Parun city, the provincial capital, and fell into the river.
According to the Taliban, four people drowned and died in the incident, while one other person was injured.
The report added that the victims were residents of Farah province who had traveled to Nuristan for recreation.
This comes after the Taliban previously reported another traffic accident in Laghman province, in which 18 people, including five women and 10 children, were killed and 29 others were injured.
