The Freedom Front has claimed that its forces attacked a gathering of Taliban fighters in Chawkay district of Kunar province, killing one member of the group.
The front said in a statement posted on X on Wednesday evening, September 9, that the attack targeted Taliban fighters at the entrance gate of a former Afghan National Army battalion.
According to the statement, one Taliban fighter was killed and two others were wounded in the attack.
The Freedom Front said the attack was carried out at around 8 p.m. on Tuesday night.
The front added that none of its fighters were harmed in the guerrilla operation.
The development comes as anti-Taliban fronts have recently intensified their attacks against the group in various parts of Afghanistan.
However, the Taliban have consistently denied the existence of opposition fronts in Afghanistan over the past five years.
