Local sources have reported that six civilians sustained injuries as a result of gunfire from Taliban guards in Helmand province.
According to accounts confirmed by the Hasht-e Subh Daily, the incident unfolded on Sunday, March 31st, within the Gerishk district.
Reports indicate that the Taliban guards opened fire on civilians who were attempting to prevent the destruction of a wheat silo. Allegedly, the silo was being demolished to facilitate the widening of the Kandahar-Herat highway.
As of now, the Taliban has refrained from offering any commentary on the incident.
This incident follows yesterday’s occurrence in Paktia, where four civilians were also wounded due to Taliban gunfire targeting civilians.
