Houthi-affiliated media have reported that air and missile strikes by the Saudi-led coalition across several parts of Yemen over the past 24 hours have killed around 20 people.
Al Jazeera reported early Thursday, November 5, that Yemeni sources claimed the coalition had carried out airstrikes in the provinces of Al Jawf, Al Bayda, Saada, and Taiz.
According to the report, Yahya Saree, the group’s military spokesperson, said 104 attacks had targeted civilian property in areas under Houthi control, including the capital, Sanaa.
Meanwhile, Yemen’s government forces said in a statement on Wednesday that they had made further advances in eastern Al Jawf province, a day after capturing strategic high ground during an operation against the Houthis.
The statement said airstrikes and drone attacks had targeted Houthi gatherings and weapons depots at several locations, inflicting heavy casualties on the group.
The escalating tensions and clashes in Yemen have raised concerns about the conflict spreading across the region.
