North Korea has announced that it has tested an air defense missile and conducted a cruise missile exercise.
Reuters reported early Thursday, November 5, citing North Korea’s official news agency, that the tests had taken place.
According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Pyongyang tested a newly designed air defense missile system on Wednesday.
The agency said the test confirmed the technical specifications and reliability of the new materials and multiple guidance modes used in the missile, as well as the system’s ability to detect and intercept targets.
North Korean sources also reported that a unit of the country’s long-range strategic cruise missile forces in the eastern region struck a target simulating an airport during a drill on Wednesday.
This marks North Korea’s fourth weapons launch in the past month.
