Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has reported launching a missile attack on a US aircraft carrier and a US Navy destroyer in regional waters.
Tasnim reported on Sunday, September 6, that the IRGC attacked the US aircraft carrier and destroyer with ballistic missiles.
According to the report, the IRGC said the US vessels had been involved in the naval blockade against Iran.
The IRGC claimed that the US aircraft carrier and destroyer were forced to leave the area of engagement after sustaining damage and fearing another Iranian attack.
This comes as US Central Command (CENTCOM) also reported on Saturday evening that Iran had attacked a US aircraft carrier and destroyer. CENTCOM said that, in response, US forces struck three Iranian oil tankers.
