Jordan and Bahrain have condemned the recent Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia and, expressing solidarity with Riyadh, warned that attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure constitute a violation of international law.
Fouad Al-Majali, spokesperson for Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on Saturday, September 19, that Amman stands in “absolute solidarity” with Saudi Arabia.
He added that Jordan supports all measures taken by Riyadh to protect its sovereignty, security, stability, and citizens.
Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also described the attacks as a “clear violation of international law, international humanitarian law, the United Nations Charter, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.”
The ministry called on the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities, adopt a firm position against these attacks, and hold those responsible accountable.
