Hamid Karzai, the former president of Afghanistan, has condemned Pakistani airstrikes on residential areas in Kunar and Helmand provinces, calling them “an invasion of Afghanistan’s territory and a violation of its sovereignty.”
On Thursday, October 1, Karzai called on Pakistani authorities to review their “hostile policies and plans” and stop promoting extremism and sowing discord, rather than “deflecting blame and killing Afghan women and children.”
The former president also urged Pakistan to engage with Afghanistan based on good-neighborly relations and civilized ties.
The Pakistani airstrikes on Helmand and Kunar killed nine civilians and injured 11 others.
