The Malala Fund has criticized the continuation of restrictions on the education of women and girls in Afghanistan for the fifth consecutive year and called for an end to the restrictions.
The foundation said on Thursday, September 17, on X that girls in Afghanistan are now in their 20s and that, during this period, no one has been held accountable for depriving them of education.
The Malala Fund has also expressed support for recognizing “gender apartheid” as a crime against humanity.
The foundation said teachers who refused to abandon girls have in many cases lost their jobs following the ban on education. However, despite being deprived of employment, they continue to educate girls.
The organization added that girls in Afghanistan continue their education with the help of teachers in underground schools and through digital platforms.
The Malala Fund added that, in cooperation with organizations such as LEARN Afghanistan, it provides financial support for alternative education programs for girls in Afghanistan.
