Noorullah Noori, the Taliban’s minister of borders and tribal affairs, has said that people who have left Afghanistan can return to the country.
Bakhtar News Agency, under the Taliban Control, reported on Wednesday, September 30, that Noori said returnees should not attempt to disrupt the country by encouraging others to do so.
He said the Taliban have no problem with people who have left Afghanistan and that there would be no obstacles to their return.
The remarks come as large numbers of Afghans, including former military personnel, journalists, human rights defenders, and women, have left the country since the Taliban retook power.
Meanwhile, the Hasht-e Subh Daily has repeatedly reported, citing its sources, that some former military personnel have been detained or killed by the Taliban after being forcibly returned to Afghanistan.
The reports have further heightened concerns among migrants stranded in Pakistan, Iran, and Tajikistan, particularly those who left Afghanistan because of security threats.
