Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has rejected allegations by the Taliban that Pakistan was involved in clashes in Nuristan and Kunar provinces, calling the claims baseless.
The ministry said in a statement posted on X on Sunday afternoon, September 27, that it rejected claims that Pakistani security forces or intelligence agencies were involved in any clashes in Afghanistan.
According to the statement, the Pakistani ministry described videos circulating on social media that allegedly show an admission of Pakistan’s involvement in the clashes as “false claims.”
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting also said such allegations by the Taliban reflect false narratives aimed at portraying domestic opposition as foreign-backed and suppressing women, children, and minorities.
This comes as media outlets under Taliban control, citing some officials from the group’s Ministry of Defense, have published videos of clashes in Nuristan and Kunar and claimed that individuals supported by Pakistan crossed the Durand Line into Afghanistan and took up arms against the group.
