Pakistani security sources have claimed that they prevented individuals they described as “terrorists” from crossing into Pakistan from Afghanistan.
Dawn reported Tuesday night, September 22, that Pakistani security sources made the claim regarding the security situation along the country’s border with Afghanistan.
According to the report, the sources claimed that the “terrorists” had attempted to enter the Kurram region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The Pakistani security sources alleged that the “terrorists” intended to enter Pakistan through Afghanistan’s Nangarhar and Paktia provinces.
This comes after the Pakistani government previously said that the perpetrators of last Friday’s explosion at a mosque in Kohat were linked to Afghanistan.
Pakistan has also alleged that members of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are operating against Pakistan under the protection of the Taliban in Afghanistan.
