The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has provided solar dryers and the necessary training to 50 women farmers in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif.

The organisation announced on Sunday, November 8, that the programme was launched to create income-generating opportunities for women farmers and promote the economic use of locally produced goods.

According to the ICRC, the equipment and training will help the women dry their agricultural products and prepare them for sale.

The organisation added that the women are now selling their dried products at a dried fruit exhibition to generate income.
