Local sources say a fire at a commercial market in Mazar-e-Sharif has caused extensive financial losses.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Saturday, October 31, that the fire broke out on Friday in the southern part of Mazar-e-Sharif city centre.
According to the sources, more than 200 shops in the underground Bakhtar Market were destroyed in the fire.
The fire is reportedly believed to have been caused by an electrical short circuit. Some shopkeepers say they have lost all their assets in the blaze.
However, precise details about the extent of the financial losses and any potential injuries or casualties caused by the fire remain unavailable.
