Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during a visit to Tehran to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional issues.
IRNA reported late Tuesday, August 11, that during the meeting, Pezeshkian emphasized deepening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation with Pakistan.
According to the report, Naqvi said the purpose of his visit to Iran was to follow up on agreements and understandings between the two countries.
This comes as Pakistan’s interior minister has traveled to Tehran several times as part of Islamabad’s efforts to mediate between the United States and Iran.
However, it remains unclear whether Naqvi’s latest visit to Tehran was part of mediation efforts.
