Turki al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition, has claimed that the coalition carried out an attack targeting Houthi arms smuggling operations.
Al Jazeera reported early Saturday, October 17, that the coalition claimed to have struck an operation that the Houthis had allegedly launched to smuggle weapons.
According to the report, the coalition spokesperson said the Houthis had been attempting to smuggle weapons by sea into areas under their control.
Al-Maliki said the Houthi forces had attempted to transport weapons by sea to the coastal province of Hudaydah.
Meanwhile, fighting between the Saudi-led coalition and Yemen’s Houthis continues across several parts of the country.
However, it remains unclear where the Houthis were obtaining the weapons they were allegedly attempting to smuggle by sea to Hudaydah.
