Iranian news outlets, citing local residents, have reported hearing several explosions on the country’s Qeshm Island.
The Fars News Agency reported early Tuesday, November 3, that the explosions were also heard in some parts of Bandar Abbas.
According to the report, the cause of the explosions remains unclear. However, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it captured two US drones over Qeshm Island.
Tensions between Iran and the United States have continued in the Persian Gulf for months, with the risk of renewed confrontation remaining.
It is not yet clear whether the explosions were caused by US attacks or had another source.
