The appeal court of the Taliban has sentenced 20 individuals from Ghazni province to three years in prison on charges of being members of Hizb ut-Tahrir.
Sources confirmed to Hasht-e Subh Daily on Saturday, December 23, that these individuals were detained by the Taliban in Ghazni nearly three months ago, and their sentences have recently been issued.
According to the sources, all the individuals sentenced to prison by the Taliban court are students and university students.
As of now, the Taliban has not officially commented on this matter.
It is worth mentioning that the Taliban have prohibited the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir, Jamiat Eslah, and the Muslim Youth Organization in Afghanistan.
Following their return to power, the group has detained dozens of individuals in various provinces of the country on charges of being members of Hizb ut-Tahrir.
