Local sources in Helmand say the Taliban pay around 10,000 Afghanis in benefits to people with disabilities and families of fighters killed while affiliated with the group, while civilians receive 2,000 Afghanis.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Wednesday, October 7, that the families of fighters killed while serving in the Taliban ranks receive between 10,000 and 15,000 Afghanis per month.
According to the sources, Taliban fighters who were disabled in the war also receive between 6,000 and 10,000 Afghanis per month, while civilians with disabilities are paid between 200 and 1,000 Afghanis.
It is said that benefits for Taliban fighters who have been killed or disabled are paid every three or six months, while benefits for civilians are paid with greater delays and sometimes take up to a year.
According to the sources, this difference in benefit payments has caused the families of civilians affected by the war to face greater economic difficulties.
