The Taliban has announced that it distributed electronic national identity cards, known as e-Tazkiras, to 827,060 people across the country during the first six months of the current year.
Halim Rafi, spokesperson for the Taliban’s National Statistics and Information Authority, said on Sunday, September 27, that 600,546 of the e-Tazkiras were issued to men and 226,524 to women.
According to the statement, 232,996 e-Tazkiras were distributed in Kabul and 74,180 in Herat.
A further 71,825 were distributed in Nangarhar, 47,260 in Kandahar, and 36,275 in Balkh.
