Sources in the Nawur district of Ghazni province say that the Taliban have restricted Dryland farming in this district.
Sources say on Monday, April 13, by sharing an official Taliban letter, that under this order, only residents are allowed to cultivate crops within areas close to their own villages.
The letter states that those who are from outside the district are not allowed to engage in Dryland farming in Nawur.
Meanwhile, residents of Nawur say that a significant number of original inhabitants of the district live in other areas, but still own agricultural land in Nawur for farming.
According to sources, under this directive, they are no longer allowed to carry out Dryland farming on their own land.
Residents see this Taliban decision as paving the way for the arrival of nomads (Kuchi).
Previously, people had said that nomads (Kuchi) had either prevented Dryland farming or destroyed it.
