The Taliban have announced that they have seized about 329 acres of land in Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital of Balkh province.
Barakatullah Rasouli, spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Justice, said in a statement on X on Tuesday, August 25, that the land is located in the “Khwadi Project” in the ninth district of Mazar-e-Sharif city.
According to the statement, he said that the land was seized by the Taliban’s “Special Court for Addressing Cases of Usurped Lands.”
This comes days after the Taliban also announced the seizure of about 147 acres of land belonging to the “Mayar Mina Township” in Mazar-e-Sharif.
However, since returning to power in Afghanistan, the Taliban have seized thousands of acres of land in different parts of the country.
