The National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan announced that trade volume between the country and the Taliban reached $298.4 million in the first two months of 2026.
Trend News Agency reported on Wednesday, April 15, citing the committee, that this figure shows an increase of about 8.1 percent compared to the same period in 2025.
According to the report, trade volume between the two sides in the first two months of 2025 was about $275.9 million.
Also, bilateral trade volume has more than doubled compared to January–February 2024.
According to the report, Afghanistan remains one of Uzbekistan’s key trading partners and is among its top 20 trading partners in terms of trade volume.
The trade structure has mainly consisted of agricultural products, energy resources, and manufactured goods.
This comes as the private sectors of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan signed trade agreements worth around $10 million in Kabul and Herat over the past week.
