Local sources in Badghis province report that the Taliban have arrested two former soldiers in this province.
According to local sources speaking to Hasht-e Subh on Saturday, April 29, the Taliban arrested two former soldiers from the city of Qala-e-Naw, the center of Badghis province, and Ab-Kamari district, and transferred them to an unknown location.
Sources state that Taliban intelligence in Badghis arrested Noor Mohammad, a member of the previous government’s army, from his home in the Faristan area of Qala-e-Naw two nights ago.
Yesterday, the Taliban also arrested Mohammad, a former police officer in the Ab-Kamari district of Badghis, and transferred him to an unknown location.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the matter.
Former government soldiers in various provinces of Afghanistan are regularly arrested, tortured, and sometimes even shot by the Taliban.
