Local sources in Kabul’s western Omid-e Sabz Township have reported that armed Taliban fighters robbed a house in the area.
Sources confirmed to the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Tuesday, October 13, that armed men who identified themselves as an inspection delegation from the Taliban’s Ministry of Justice had stolen belongings from a residential house in Phase Four of the township.
According to the sources, five armed Taliban fighters entered the house, confined the family members to one room, and then stole all their valuables and other belongings.
The sources added that the Taliban’s “lawlessness” and arbitrary actions in the township had reached their peak, and no institution was addressing the residents’ complaints or listening to their concerns.
The sources said that since the Taliban began inspecting houses in Omid Sabz Township, residents of the area had repeatedly faced mistreatment by Taliban fighters.
They said Taliban fighters had so far forced dozens of families to vacate their homes, while members of the group had moved into people’s houses.
According to documents obtained by the Hasht-e Subh Daily, the Taliban Supreme Leader’s office has asked the group’s Supreme Court to send all documents related to Omid-e Sabz Township to Kandahar for a fresh review.
However, according to sources, the Taliban’s Ministry of Justice has accelerated the process of inspecting houses and evicting residents, contrary to this request.
