Local sources in Baghlan province have reported that the Taliban have detained a school teacher in the region.
Sources have confirmed to Hasht-e Subh that on Thursday, June 1, the Taliban arrested Abdul Basir, a teacher at the Sangboran school in Deh-Salah district of Baghlan province, for undisclosed reasons and transferred him to an unknown location.
According to acquaintances of Abdul Basir, he had been devoted to teaching for 40 years and was apprehended by the Taliban while returning from the school to the Deh-Salah market.
The source further adds that the detained individual is elderly and in poor health.
So far, the Taliban have not made any statements regarding this incident.
Meanwhile, sources in the province state that an unarmed civilian who had recently returned from Iran was killed by unidentified gunmen in Jar-e Khoshk, Central Baghlan district.
It is worth mentioning that since their resurgence in Afghanistan, the Taliban have been detaining, imprisoning, torturing, and in some cases even killing civilians on various charges.
