Local Taliban authorities say three civilians were killed and 23 others wounded in Pakistani airstrikes on Khost province.
Bakhtar News Agency reported on Saturday, February 28, citing Mustaghfar Gurbaz, spokesperson for the Taliban governor in Khost, that the casualties occurred in the districts of Zazi Maidan, Alishero, and Terezio.
Gurbaz said those injured in the incident had been transferred to hospitals.
It remains unclear how many civilians have been killed in the ongoing clashes between Pakistan and the Taliban.
The Taliban have confirmed that Pakistan carried out airstrikes in five Afghan provinces.
The United Nations has expressed concern over the escalating tensions between the Taliban and Pakistan and has called for the protection of civilians.
