The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Afghanistan says the treatment success rate for tuberculosis patients in the country has reached 95.6 percent.
In a post on X on Monday, November 2, the organisation said that 185,629 people in Afghanistan had been tested for tuberculosis during the third quarter of 2026.
According to UN figures, 13,918 patients began treatment during the same period.
The United Nations Development Programme added that the treatment success rate had reached 95.6 percent, significantly exceeding the set target.
The organisation said efforts to combat tuberculosis across Afghanistan are continuing with support from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) and through the implementation of its programmes.
