The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced that, with funding from the European Union, it is implementing a broad range of development programs aimed at strengthening the economy, improving essential services, and enhancing the resilience of local communities in Badakhshan Province.

The UNDP reported on Saturday, July 4, that an EU delegation visited Badakhshan Province and toured several development projects in the districts of Fayzabad, Baharak District, and Arghanj Khwa District.

According to the report, the projects cover a wide range of sectors, including support for small businesses, livelihood assistance for vulnerable families, food security, agricultural development, expansion of irrigation systems, and improvements to healthcare services.

The UNDP added that part of the initiative focuses on empowering women and young people through technical and vocational training to create sustainable employment and income opportunities in remote areas.

According to the report, the projects are being implemented by the UNDP in partnership with other organizations in Afghanistan and are intended to reduce the vulnerability of local communities to economic and climate-related crises, as well as the lack of essential services.
