The World Health Organization (WHO) says safe and quality healthcare is essential for patients living with noncommunicable diseases.
The organization wrote on its X page on Thursday, September 17, that protecting patients from preventable harm and ensuring the provision of safe healthcare is a shared responsibility in Afghanistan.
The WHO added that patient safety is a fundamental component of quality healthcare and that efforts should be made to provide patients with safe and effective treatment services.
Edwin Ceniza Salvador, the WHO representative in Afghanistan, said that through working together, it must be ensured that every patient receives safe and effective services throughout all stages of treatment and healthcare.
The remarks were made on the occasion of World Patient Safety Day.
