The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has announced that it has distributed nearly 50,000 hot meal packages to returning Afghan migrants at the Torkham crossing since June.
The agency said on Wednesday, September 16, on X that it provides up to 2,000 hot meal packages and cash assistance to returnees each day.
UNHCR added that its support for Afghan migrants at the Torkham crossing is continuing.
The assistance comes as the Taliban said that more than 1,000 Afghan migrants returned to the country the previous day.
According to the Taliban, more than 400 of the returnees entered Afghanistan through the Torkham crossing.
