UNICEF

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that in Ghazi Abad, Kunar province, more than four thousand homes were destroyed in Sunday’s earthquake.

On Wednesday, September 3, the organization said in a message posted on its X page that many families have become homeless, roads are blocked, and some areas are only accessible on foot.

UNICEF added that it is working with its partners to send urgent medical aid, hygiene packages, and winter clothing for affected children and families to prevent their situation from deteriorating further.

This assistance is being provided while earthquake survivors are living in very unfavorable conditions, without shelter and basic facilities.

In some remote areas, rescue teams have not yet been able to access these regions due to damaged routes and roads, which has made the process of providing aid to those in need more difficult.

It should be noted that Hamdullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman for the Taliban, has announced that so far, one thousand and 457 people have been killed, three thousand and 394 people have been injured, and six thousand and 782 homes have been destroyed.
