In a recent meeting with the board and professors of Kabul Education University, the Taliban acting minister of higher education said that there was no expectation from those who had graduated from schools in the past 20 years.
During the meeting, Haqqani stressed the importance of Kabul Education University, which trains teachers, and said that good teachers should be sent to schools.
The remarks have provoked widespread reactions.
Haqqani has previously made reactive remarks about schools and universities.
Haqqani once said that the leaders of the current government are “madrassa students” who didn’t attend schools but are superior to “scholars, professors and doctors” for their faith and the sacrifices they made for the people.
