The World Health Organization (WHO) in Afghanistan has called for strengthening healthcare facilities to provide services to communities in need across the country.
The organization said on Thursday, August 27, on X that it continues to provide life-saving care across Afghanistan.
The UN agency also emphasized its support for vulnerable children and the provision of essential healthcare services.
This comes as the organization’s latest report on Afghanistan’s health situation last month indicated an increase in some communicable diseases.
However, following the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan, the country’s healthcare system has also been affected, and the provision of healthcare services has declined significantly.
