Sources in Kabul say Ibrahim Kalin, head of Turkey’s intelligence agency, and Hamad Khamis Al-Kubaisi, deputy of Qatar’s National Security Council, have traveled to Kabul.
Sources confirmed to the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Wednesday, September 16, that the delegation had met with several Taliban officials.
According to the sources, details about the exact purpose of the visit have not yet been released.
The sources added that the delegation is expected to travel to Kandahar and may also meet with Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Taliban Supreme Leader.
This comes as the United Nations Secretary-General recently reported that the human rights situation under Taliban rule has deteriorated.
