Local sources in Barmal district of Paktika province reported the brutal killing of a middle-aged woman in the border areas between this district and Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Speaking to the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, sources said the woman’s body was found this afternoon at the foot of a mountain in the Angur Adda area, in the border regions between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
According to the sources, the woman died as a result of severe beating and being struck with stones.
They added that the woman had gone to the mountains around the district to graze her livestock and was killed by unknown individuals.
The sources further stated that the woman was 45 years old and is survived by nine children.
This comes as criminal incidents, targeted and mysterious killings, armed robberies, and insecurity have increased in various provinces of the country, raising public concern.
