In the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 50 overs tournament, the Afghanistan national cricket team emerged victorious against their Pakistani counterparts, securing a remarkable win by eight wickets.

The thrilling encounter took place on Monday night, October 23, at the iconic Chidambaram Stadium in India.

Initially, Pakistan set the tone by putting up a total of 283 runs on the board in their allotted 50 overs.

In response, Afghanistan’s national players skillfully chased down the target, losing only two wickets in the forty-ninth over, clinching a well-deserved victory.

Ibrahim Zadran played a significant role during this match, showcasing his prowess by scoring 87 runs for Afghanistan, earning him the title of the best player of the match.

This victory marked Afghanistan’s fifth appearance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 50 overs tournament. In their previous four matches, the national team experienced three defeats and one victory, making this win a significant achievement for them.

Looking ahead, the national team is gearing up to face Sri Lanka on October 30 and will later compete against the Netherlands national cricket team on November 3.
