Local sources say clashes have erupted between the Taliban and Pakistani forces in the Dand Patan district of Paktia province, with Pakistan firing artillery shells toward the area.

Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Saturday evening, October 17, that several civilians had been trapped inside their homes following the clashes, while some families had also fled their homes.

According to the sources, Pakistan is firing indiscriminately toward villages and residential homes, a situation that has raised concerns among residents.

Residents of the area say women and children are facing difficult conditions out of fear of the clashes, and the attacks are continuing.

The sources added that the Taliban are also carrying out defensive attacks in response to the shelling.

So far, no precise details are available regarding the reasons for the clashes between the Taliban and Pakistan or the possible casualties.
