Previously, researchers have warned that the Chaman Fault, which stretches from the Hindu Kush to southwest and east to west Pakistan, has increased the risk of earthquakes in Afghanistan.
Currently, only one million citizens live in the Chaman Fault region in the capital of the country, according to the researchers.
