The Taliban Ministry of Migrants and Returnees says that 21 Afghan migrants were released from Pakistani prisons and returned to the country.

The ministry added in a statement on Thursday, March 12, that these individuals returned to the country via the Spin Boldak crossing.

According to the ministry, the migrants had spent between two days and two months in Pakistani prisons.

Recently, Pakistani police have intensified the detention of Afghan migrants.

According to UN agencies, nearly three million Afghan migrants returned from Pakistan and Iran in 2025.
