Reliable local sources in Daikundi province report that during the course fo last two days, the Taliban have arrested six people from “Watameh” village of Khidir district of this province on the allegation of possessing weapons and opposing the Taliban group.
On Sunday, November 27, the sources, speaking to Hasht-e Subh said that the arrested persons are Khan Mohammad, Hossein Ali, Eid Mohammad, Nasim, and Dad Mohammad.
A source, who did not want to be named, says that the people arrested by the Taliban are ordinary people and have not had any activities against this group.
Another local source to Hasht-e Subh newspaper that these people have arrested on the orders of Mohammad Ali Sadaqat, a local supporter of the Taliban in Daikundi.
The source adds: “Mr. Sadaqat has provided the names and addresses of 50 of his opponents to the local Taliban and has allegedly accused them of opposing the Taliban in this province. Six of them are so far arrested by the Taliban.
The local officials of the Taliban in Daikundi have not said anything about this so far.
This is despite the fact that on Thursday last week, the Taliban, with the complicity of their local supporters, attacked two houses in Siuk-Shiber area in the city of Nili, the center of Daikundi that resulted in more than 12 casualties, including children and women. The victims of the attack on local residents have been either killed by shooting or beheaded. Local sources report. Many people, including women and children, have been arrested and injured in these clashes and attacks of the Taliban on defenseless local residents.
