Local sources say clashes have erupted between Taliban fighters and Pakistani forces in the Angoor Ada area of Barmal district in Paktika province.
Speaking to the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Tuesday, October 27, the sources said the fighting began after noon at the Angoor Ada border area and continued intensely.
According to the sources, both sides used heavy weapons during the clashes, prompting some local residents to flee their homes.
No precise details have been released so far about possible casualties or the cause of the fighting.
The incident comes a week after Taliban fighters and Pakistani military personnel also clashed in the same area.
