Russian President Vladimir Putin has criticized Western unilateral sanctions, saying they affect energy-producing countries and global energy supplies.
Al Jazeera reported on Tuesday, October 27, that Putin made the remarks in response to comments by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Putin said he agreed with Tehran’s criticism of unilateral sanctions.
He emphasized that the sanctions affect not only energy-producing countries but also global energy supplies and consumer nations.
The United States and European countries have imposed sanctions on Russia and Iran aimed at restricting energy exports from the two countries.
