Data released by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) shows that attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz reached a new record in October.
Al Jazeera reported early Saturday, October 31, that at least 35 attacks on vessels were recorded in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz during the month.
According to the report, October has been the worst month for attacks on ships in the region since the United States and Israel began their war against Iran in February.
UKMTO data shows that March was the second-worst month, with approximately 30 reported attacks.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that at least four vessels caught fire yesterday after striking naval mines in and around the Strait of Hormuz.
