Local sources in Farah province say the bodies of three young girls were recovered from a well, 11 days after they went missing.
Sources reported on Sunday, September 21, that the bodies were discovered in the Khaki Safed district of Farah.
According to the sources, the victims were two sisters and their cousin. The girls were aged five, eight, and ten.
The sources said the bodies were found two days ago.
The Taliban’s police command in Farah has also confirmed the incident.
The circumstances surrounding how the children fell into the well remain unclear.
Since the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan, incidents of children falling into wells have increased over the past two years.
