Local sources say the body of Abdul Bashir Mohammadi, a former security force member, has been recovered from a well in Toghani village, in the outskirts of Sar-e Pul city.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Sunday, November 8, that his body was found the previous day, about 25 days after his death.
According to the sources, Mohammadi was shot in the back of the head and his body was thrown into the well.
The sources added that his body had severely decomposed after being left there for about 25 days. His wife identified him through his clothing and the paper identification card found with him.
Sources said Mohammadi had previously served in the Sar-e Pul provincial police force. After the Taliban takeover, he worked as a driver.
Meanwhile, arrests and killings of former security force members have continued since the Taliban returned to power, despite the group’s leader having announced a general amnesty.
