The Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure Council has called for reducing tensions in the region and supporting efforts to promote stability.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday afternoon, September 14, that the council held its 46th meeting in Pakistan.
According to the statement, council members supported efforts aimed at reducing tensions, promoting peace and ensuring stability in the region.
The ministry said delegations from Russia, China, India, Belarus, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan participated in the meeting.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said the council reviewed the implementation of decisions on coordinating cooperation among the competent authorities of Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states in combating terrorism, separatism and extremism.
Meanwhile, Pakistan, Russia and Tajikistan, all members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, have repeatedly expressed concern over terrorist activities in Afghanistan under Taliban rule.
