The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) says 44 commercial vessels had altered their routes in the Strait of Hormuz as of August 3.
In a post on X on the night of August 3, CENTCOM said U.S. forces continue to enforce the maritime blockade of Iran.
The U.S. military said that by Monday it had disabled two vessels and inspected two others.
The statement comes after Iran’s armed forces warned that the continuation of the U.S. maritime blockade would be regarded as an extension of the war.
The United States imposed the maritime blockade after Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz.
