Local sources say that a dentist named Hesamuddin Akbari was killed by armed men in Qala-e-Naw, the capital of Badghis province.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Sunday, September 20, that the incident took place in the Jar-e Khushk area of the first district of Qala-e-Naw.
According to the sources, Akbari also ran a dental clinic alongside his official job.
The sources added that a woman and a man have been arrested by the Taliban in connection with the incident and remain in custody for investigation.
No further details have so far been released about how the incident occurred or the motive behind the killing of the dentist.
Criminal incidents, armed robberies, and insecurity have increased as the Taliban have repeatedly claimed that they have ensured nationwide security in Afghanistan.
